Since 1993 James Vancura's life and career has focused on charitable causes when he became the Project Coordinator and Primary Grant Researcher/Writer/Manager for Ore-Cal Resource Conservation and Development Area Council. From 1993 to 2007 James worked in three counties in Northern California, including Siskiyou, Modoc, and Tehama counties, and in two counties in Southern Oregon, including Klamath and Lake counties. In his position as Project Coordinator he was responsible for the full range of helping nonprofits, community groups and for-profit organizations with various projects and programs having broad social benefit. While in this position he was responsible for seeking and/or managing approximately $7 million in government, private, and foundation awards.
While working in Iraq as an Agricultural Advisor to the Department of State James led a team in the successful funding, completion and management of various projects supported by US and Iraqi government programs and local farmer groups and unions. As Senior Agricultural Adviser, he was responsible for engagements with key Iraqi and US government officials, Provincial Council members, farmer unions and NGOs throughout Northern Iraq. From 2007 to 2011 (40 months) James served his country and completed many successful programs for the Iraqi Government and people totalling nearly $10 million in combined awards and programs. Approximately 30% of these funds came directly from the Iraqi government and/or individual Iraqi farmers.
