Your Background Information
Your Corporate Story - AKA; "About Us"
Most business plans will contain some Background Information about the featured company. Typically this information will include, as a minimum:
YOUR MISSION STATEMENT - Keep it simple and express just exactly what you do and keep in mind that this will likely integrate into your website description so keep it SEO compatible (150 characters or less).
YOUR VISION - Where you see your company going over time; what niche you want to compete in, and; how the public or your particular stakeholders will recognize your company in the future.
COMPANY HISTORY - From where your company originates, who are/were your founders and what event or social need persuaded your founders to launch your company.
COMPANY PROFILE- Two primary areas include:
Your Company Organizational Structure (legal and functional)
Your Company Business; what products, services and programs you provide for the benefit of your customers. Nonprofits, remember to consider both
those people who benefit from your programs and the
external stakeholders who contribute via donations, volunteering, and participation in your projects, programs and services.)
COMPANY PORTFOLIO - Your accomplishments and achievements can be highlighted here and you may want to include some short, bulleted, testimonials or recommendations from satisfied clients depending on who will be reading your business plan.
CONTACT AND CONNECT- List all of the most common means of contact and connection with the public, your customers and external stakeholders, including but not limited to: (Please note contents of this section largely is dependent upon who your primary audience will be.)
